BC ERP & Power BI Developer/Analyst

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central ERP Developer/Analyst with strong functional and technical expertise, combined with analytical skills and hands-on Power BI experience. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to design, develop, customize, and optimize BC ERP solutions while delivering meaningful insights through data modeling and reporting. This role requires deep knowledge of AL development, Business Central functional processes, system integrations, and data analytics to support decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Business Central Development & Customization

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom extensions in AL language for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Customize BC functionality to meet business requirements while following best practices and upgrade-safe development
  • Develop and maintain reports, pages, code units, APIs, and integrations
  • Perform system upgrades, extensions management, and version control
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance issues
  • Functional & Business Analysis
  • Work closely with business users to gather, analyze, and translate functional requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide functional expertise across BC modules such as:
  • Finance & General Ledger
  • Sales & Purchasing
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management
  • Manufacturing (if applicable)
  • Support UAT, training, and documentation for end users
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders

Data Analytics & Power BI

  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports using Business Central and other data sources
  • Create data models, DAX measures, and optimized datasets for reporting and analysis
  • Analyze business data to identify trends, insights, and performance opportunities
  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, and security in reporting solutions
  • Support stakeholders with ad-hoc data analysis and reporting needs

Integration & Data Management

  • Develop and maintain integrations between Business Central and third-party systems
  • Work with APIs, web services, and data connectors
  • Ensure data integrity, validation, and reconciliation across systems

Required Skills & Qualifications: Technical Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Strong expertise in AL programming
  • Experience with BC extensions, event-driven development, and upgrade-safe customizations
  • Solid understanding of SQL Server and BC data structures
  • 3+ years of experience with Power BI, including:
  • Data modeling
  • DAX
  • Report and dashboard development

Functional & Analytical Skills

  • Strong understanding of ERP business processes and workflows
  • Proven ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure services, Power Platform, or BC APIs
  • Microsoft Dynamics certifications (Business Central or Power BI)
  • Experience in Agile or DevOps environments
