Overview
This engagement focuses on identifying, assessing, and securing domain names with meaningful SEO potential. The contractor will contribute specialized research, technical evaluation, and acquisition expertise to strengthen authority and content initiatives across several digital properties. The work requires analytical depth, investigative thinking, and a strong grasp of the domain ecosystem. Scope of Work Domain discovery & acquisition Research, evaluate, and secure domains through direct purchase, registration opportunities, and auction participation. Manage the full acquisition flow, including availability checks, registration steps, and invoicing coordination. SEO & technical assessment Perform quality audits to identify spam signals, analyze backlink profiles, review topical alignment, and validate domain authority metrics. Marketplace monitoring Track expired domains, drop lists, and marketplace listings to surface high‑value opportunities. Identify new platforms and alternative acquisition channels. Auction strategy Participate in auctions, manage bidding approaches, and evaluate competitive landscapes in real time. Historical review Use archive.org and similar tools to verify past content, site structures, and potential risks. Collaboration Coordinate with SEO and content stakeholders to ensure domain selections support broader ranking and authority objectives. Documentation Maintain structured notes, acquisition criteria, and insights to support ongoing decision‑making. Required Expertise Proficiency with SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Searchmetrics, Majestic, or comparable tools. Experience in off‑site SEO and link‑quality evaluation. Understanding of ranking factors, link building, algorithm behavior, and recovery considerations. Ability to interpret HTML/CSS structures for technical review. Strong analytical instincts and pattern recognition. High attention to detail and consistent documentation habits. Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing priorities. Preferred Background Experience in link acquisition or affiliate‑driven SEO. Familiarity with bulk domain tools and domain portfolio management. Understanding of valuation principles (topical relevance, DR, trust/citation flow). Experience building or flipping micro‑niche sites. Knowledge of registrars (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Dynadot) and auction platforms (Sedo, SnapNames, DropCatch). Practical use of archive.org and similar tools for historical analysis.
