Job Summary

We're seeking a part-time Remote Data Entry Operator / Typing Specialist to work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 4 hours per day. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing data entry services for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, navigating multiple data systems with precision and efficiency. You'll require a strong understanding of how data systems function, as well as accuracy and efficiency to allow the GVFB to better serve its customers and inform donors.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform data entry for the Gallatin Valley Food Bank, including entering client personal data, services, and other relevant information into various databases

  • Search databases as needed to retrieve information
  • Review intake forms for completeness and update data systems with changes
  • Work with the Healthcare Admin Jobs Data and Compliance Coordinator for systems evaluation and implementation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Essential Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1-2 years of experience in data entry or a related field
  • Strong understanding of data systems and their functions
  • Excellent accuracy and efficiency in data entry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Experience with data entry software and systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Experience with proprietary, custom, or online programs or databases
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Skills and Competencies

* Language skills: read and comprehend basic instructions and present information to others

  • Mathematical/money handling skills: basic counting skills, add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple numbers
  • Reasoning ability: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Computer skills: words per minute computer keyboard required: 55 wpm, 10-keystrokes per minute data entry required: display competency
  • Specialized office equipment: operate/program fax machine to send or receive documents, operate/program copy machine, operate copier/scanner
  • Computer software and operating systems: utilize computer spreadsheet (Excel) to input, format, and edit data and save, print, or transmit data, utilize computer word processing (Word) to input, format, and edit documents and save, print, or transmit documents, utilize computer databases to create data files, input, format, and edit data and save, print, or transmit data, utilize internet/e-mail to access, compose, send, retrieve, save, print, or transmit documents, or data files or electronic communication, operate personal computer with Windows operating system to start programs, input, format, and edit data files and print or transmit data, utilize proprietary, custom, or online programs or data bases to input, format, and edit data and save, print, or transmit data
