Full Stack Software Engineer (CFS Platform)
ABOUT CFS Climate Finance Solutions (CFS) is a global consultancy that helps companies and organizations secure large-scale grant funding to develop and scale their high-impact climate solutions. The CFS team has a strong track record of success, having secured over $1.6 billion in grant funding. CFS is mission-driven, aiming to provide equitable access to the climate funding ecosystem. It is focused on supporting high-impact, climate-related ventures, and training and growing high-potential hires to develop the next class of leaders in climate. SUMMARY The CFS Platform (internally known as GMS) is the technology layer underneath our funding work. It combines an internal workflow tool used by our funding team, a secure client portal, AI-assisted analysis of solicitations and proposal documents, and a growing dataset of funding opportunities and program intelligence built up over years of practice. Today, much of this work lives across Airtable, Google Drive, email, and Slack. We are turning that into a real product so our team can move faster across more opportunities, our clients have a better experience throughout the funding process, and CFS can open up new lines of business in funding intelligence and self-serve tooling. This is the first dedicated software engineering hire on the platform. You will work directly with the founder and a small group of collaborators, with real ownership over what gets built and how. The codebase is early enough that you can shape it, and the product is real enough that what you ship gets used the same week by our funding team and our clients. The role is a strong fit for someone who wants to build a serious product without the layers and process of a larger company, and who finds climate and industrial technology genuinely interesting. Beyond technical skills, this role is a good fit for someone with genuine interest in the climate work CFS does and the drive to help build a product that supports it. The right candidate is self-directed, able to execute on day-to-day implementation while also helping shape the platform as it matures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Build and ship product features across the frontend and backend Improve the internal workflow tool and the client-facing portal Contribute to AI-assisted features for solicitation analysis, document workflows, and drafting support Fix bugs and improve reliability as usage grows Work closely with the founder and other collaborators to turn ideas into shipped functionality Support related automation work across the company’s operational and business development functions QUALIFICATIONS Strong proficiency with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and similar) as a daily part of your workflow, with the judgment to review and refine what they produce rather than ship it as-is Solid experience building and shipping production web applications Strong TypeScript and React skills, with comfort working across the stack Good product instincts and the ability to take a feature from rough idea to working implementation without heavy oversight Care for code quality alongside speed of delivery Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated, while thriving in a startup company culture and fast-paced work environment NICE TO HAVE Experience with Supabase or Postgres Experience shipping AI-assisted product features in production Experience with document-heavy workflows, internal tools, or B2B SaaS products Background in or genuine curiosity about climate, energy, or industrial technology OUR COMMITMENT TO INCLUSIVITY Climate Finance Solutions values diversity and is committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive environment.
