Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Responsibilities: -Researching case law and writing legal documents -Managing client files in Smokeball -Communicating with clients on all aspects of their case -Point of contact for court staff, other attorneys, witnesses, etc. -Working with attorneys and other staff on client matters -Assisting clients with organizing their documentation and financial information -Filing legal documents on the Mississippi Electronic Courts system -Managing client cases from start to finish -Developing a relationship with clients Must be: -Up for a challenge -Willing to work hard in a fast-paced environment -Self-motivated -Able to work productively with minimal supervision -Problem solver with a positive attitude -Work well in a team environment -Reliable -Compassionate, honest, trustworthy, and respectful -Efficient and detail-oriented -Flexible and resilient in an ever-evolving atmosphere Must have: -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively -Experience in office administration or case management -Excellent level of proficiency with Microsoft Office -Excellent grammar, spelling, writing, and proofreading skills -Excellent organizational and multitasking skills -Must be Notary Public or willing to obtain Notary Commission after hire -Willingness/ability to work with people during sensitive times of their lives -Law office/legal experience is preferred but not necessarily required WORK SCHEDULE Monday – Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with an hour lunch.
