[Remote] Engineering Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Synchro is a global technology organization focused on building scalable digital products and services. The Engineering Manager will lead a distributed team of software engineers to support backend services and drive technical excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support a geographically distributed engineering team in a fast-paced environment
- Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical strategy across backend services
- Partner with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams to execute roadmap initiatives
- Define team goals, manage project timelines, and communicate risks and priorities
- Improve engineering processes and team effectiveness
- Conduct regular one-on-ones focused on technical guidance and career development
- Support hiring efforts and team growth
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture
Skills
- 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams within software development environments
- Strong communication skills with experience working across distributed teams
- Technical background in software engineering with the ability to guide technical decisions
- Background in API development and scalable service architecture supporting large user bases
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills
- Experience mentoring, developing, and empowering engineering teams across multiple locations
- Experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Python, and/or Rust; Kotlin and Swift are a plus
