[Remote] Senior Database Administrator
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Scalability Engineers is seeking an experienced MS SQL Server DBA to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production and development databases, ensuring high availability, and optimizing database performance.
Responsibilities
- Strong experience as a SQL Server DBA
- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database administration, including database design, installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery solutions, such as database mirroring, log shipping, Always on and clustering
- Experience with various methods of Replication topology and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Table partitioning implementation
- Experience with database security best practices and the ability to implement and enforce security measures
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Proven experience in managing large-scale SQL Server databases in a production environment
- Understanding of relational database management systems and their principles
- Familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends in SQL Server database administration
- Manage and monitor SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security
- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime
- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as index rebuilding
- Perform query optimization, and database tuning
- Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues and bottlenecks
- Monitor and analyse database performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement
- Plan and execute database migration and upgrade projects
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems in a timely manner
- Experience in writing TSQL and PowerShell scripts
- Ability to work independently and effectively
- Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
