Remote Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their innovative, fully remote engineering team. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to cutting-edge projects in power generation, distribution, and grid modernization. You will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. The role requires a deep understanding of power electronics, renewable energy integration, grid stability, and control systems. You will lead design efforts, perform detailed analysis, conduct simulations, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Key responsibilities include conceptualizing new power system designs, selecting appropriate components and equipment, developing schematics and layouts, troubleshooting system issues, and preparing technical documentation and reports. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients, will be essential. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering, coupled with substantial professional experience in power systems engineering. Proficiency in simulation software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or PSCAD is highly desirable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with strong written and verbal communication abilities, are critical for success in this remote role. You must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and contributing effectively within a distributed team environment. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems is required. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a significant plus. Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems. 5+ years of progressive experience in power systems engineering. In-depth knowledge of power system design, analysis, and protection. Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E, PSCAD). Strong understanding of renewable energy integration and grid modernization concepts. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
