[Remote] Senior Legal Counsel

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. CivicMinds, Inc is a national Am Law-ranked firm seeking a Senior Counsel with over 8 years of insurance defense experience. The role involves managing a complex docket of high-stakes insurance defense files, formulating defense strategies, and leading settlement negotiations in a fully remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a complex docket of high-stakes insurance defense files from inception through resolution
• Formulate aggressive defense strategies and draft high-level pleadings, substantive motions, and appellate briefs
• Conduct critical depositions of key plaintiffs, experts, and corporate representatives
• Lead settlement negotiations, arbitrations, mediations, and trial preparation
• Provide clear, timely evaluation reports to insurance carriers in strict compliance with litigation guidelines

Skills

• Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
• 8+ years of dedicated insurance defense or civil litigation experience
• Self-motivated leader capable of working independently and managing deadlines in a fully remote setup
• Hands-on experience with Excess Liability, Transportation/Trucking, or Commercial Litigation
• First-chair or second-chair trial experience
