Remote Sustainable Agriculture Specialist
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to cutting-edge agricultural practices from anywhere in the US. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sustainable farming techniques, crop science, and environmental stewardship, with a passion for developing and implementing eco-friendly agricultural solutions.
- Responsibilities:
- Research, develop, and promote sustainable agricultural practices, including organic farming, permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and integrated pest management. Provide expert consultation and technical assistance to farmers and agricultural organizations on adopting sustainable methods. Analyze soil health, water management, and biodiversity data to develop tailored strategies for land improvement and conservation. Design and oversee pilot projects for new sustainable farming technologies and approaches. Develop educational materials, workshops, and training programs for stakeholders interested in sustainable agriculture. Stay abreast of current research, policy changes, and best practices in sustainable agriculture and environmental science globally. Collaborate with a remote team of scientists, researchers, and project managers to achieve project goals. Prepare grant proposals and reports for funding agencies and partners. Evaluate the environmental impact of various agricultural practices and recommend mitigation strategies. Contribute to the development of long-term strategies for food security and environmental resilience through sustainable agriculture. Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Agronomy, Soil Science, Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, farming, or agricultural research. In-depth knowledge of ecological principles and their application in agriculture. Proven ability to conduct research, analyze data, and present findings effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly. Demonstrated experience in project management and leading initiatives. Proficiency in using GIS software, statistical analysis tools, and other relevant agricultural technologies. Strong understanding of national and international agricultural policies and regulations related to sustainability. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team environment. Passion for promoting environmental sustainability and food system resilience. Experience with grant writing and fundraising is a plus.
