Sr Backend Engineer

Technical Challenge You will design, build, and scale backend systems that power new venture products, translating business needs into reliable APIs and services. You will strengthen delivery by partnering on cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices to improve performance, security, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that support product features and integrate with internal and external systems. Build and optimize data models and queries to ensure consistent performance, reliability, and data integrity. Contribute to DevOps and cloud infrastructure practices, including deployments, automation, monitoring, and incident response. Collaborate closely with product and engineering partners to scope work, ship iteratively, and uphold quality through code reviews and testing. Required Skills Strong backend engineering experience delivering production services with clear ownership for reliability, maintainability, and performance. Proficiency building services with Node and Typescript, including modern API design and service-to-service communication. Proficiency building services and automation with Python. Experience using PostgreSQL in production, including schema design, query optimization, and troubleshooting. Experience designing and operating cloud infrastructure and automation with Terraform. Familiarity running and maintaining workloads on Kubernetes. Preferred Skills Experience working with GCP. Experience building services with .NET Core.
