Strategic Commodity Manager, Electronics

As the Strategic Commodity Manager, Electronics, you will leverage AMETEK electronic & PCBA commodity spend to develop a robust Electronics commodity sourcing strategy that focuses on continuity of supply while optimizing costs and service. You will organize, communicate, and lead strategies for the electronics commodity that focus on driving value improvements throughout the supply chain with an emphasis on cost and quality improvements, lead-time reductions, payment term extensions, and superior service in product development, as well as on-time delivery performance on a global basis. What you will do: Develop and execute the overall business strategic sourcing strategy for the Electronics commodity Total Cost and Relationship owner for electronic & PCBA commodities and supplier accounts Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships resulting in lowest total cost, highest quality products, and superior customer service Manage global negotiations and comprehensive supply agreements with electronic & PCBA suppliers Monitor the Electronics market conditions guiding DFS’s strategies to optimize performance to the changing market conditions ensuring continuity of supply and competitive advantages are maximized Maintain leading-edge, electronic market knowledge expertise and supply capabilities & capacity Cultivate and develop long-term working relationships with key supplier’s senior management and account representation to maximize AMETEK performance Support North America & China operations as an active participant in operation calls and projects, and be the liaison between Operations and the supply base working through various activities that support operations and ultimately the customer Initiate and drive supply chain best practices throughout the North America supply chain, collaborating and sharing best practices with global peers What we are looking for: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering; Master’s degree and/or Professional Certification desired Minimum of 7+ years of equivalent working experience in the electronics PCBA market with a demonstrated knowledge of the supply base capabilities and associated cost Solid foundation in global purchasing accompanied by manufacturing experience as an engineer, materials manager, or other manufacturing/supply chain supervisory and/or leadership experience Purchasing experience with multiple global facilities, RFI and RFQ preparation analysis, supplier negotiation, executive relationship management, international sourcing, vertical market tracking and analysis, company savings tracking, data acquisition, project strategy, and management Strategic thinker with great business judgment, problem solver, and able to provide solutions Proven ability to implement comprehensive, division-wide sourcing strategies Excellent negotiation skills and supplier management Strong charismatic personality, able to work within multiple team environments across various cultural backgrounds to achieve desired results Superior analytical skills and data management expertise Relentless pursuit of continuous improvement balanced with the ability to effectively articulate and lead willing change throughout the organization Strong commitment to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 20% of the time Ability to aggressively sell new initiatives both internally and externally Additional characteristics: Strong verbal and written communication skills Self-starter with strong organizational skills, ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail Ability to influence and sell concepts, strategies, and plans that result in support and buy-in across the global cultures Ability to effectively communicate and connect with all levels of associates Strong business acumen with strategic vision; ability to be detail focused while summarizing concepts at a strategic level Proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment #LI-JT1
