Role Overview As a Tax Coach, you will manage a portfolio of assigned coaching clients. You’ll lead strategy calls, identify planning opportunities, and ensure implementation is executed correctly. In addition, you will prepare tax returns for your assigned clients and assist with other returns during peak filing seasons. This is a hybrid strategy-and-preparation role designed for someone who enjoys both client advisory and technical tax work.
Responsibilities
- Lead structured tax strategy calls with business-owner clients
- Analyze prior-year returns, client changes and financials to identify tax planning opportunities
- Communicate with clients using our communcation systems
- Develop and implement proactive tax strategies (entity optimization, retirement planning, Augusta strategy, accountable plans, etc.)
- Prepare business tax returns (primarily S Corps and Partnerships)
- Prepare related individual tax returns for business owners
- Assist with additional return preparation during busy season as needed
- Communicate compliance requirements clearly and confidently
- Collaborate with bookkeeping and tax prep teams to ensure accuracy
- Maintain accurate documentation in CRM and workflow systems
Qualifications
- Strong experience preparing S Corporation and Partnership returns
- Comfortable preparing individual returns tied to business entities
- Working knowledge of business-owner tax strategies
- Confident leading client meetings independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- EA or CPA preferred (or actively pursuing)
- Experience with Drake Tax Software (or similar)
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online

Experience:
- Tax Advisory: 2 years (Preferred)
- Business Tax Prep: 2 years (Required)
License/Certification:
- CPA (Preferred)
- Enrolled Agent (Preferred)
