[Remote] Scientist, Bioinformatics

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Bruker is enabling scientists to make breakthrough discoveries and develop new applications that improve the quality of human life. They are seeking an entry-level Bioinformatician to join their R&D department, where the successful candidate will establish bioinformatic data analysis solutions and perform analyses for key customer collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain bioinformatics tools, libraries, and databases analyzing Spatial Proteomics / mIF data
• Analyze and interpret large, complex biological datasets - including spatial proteomics and single-cell data - to support discovery of new drugs, therapies, and biologically meaningful patterns
• Evaluate, test, and improve existing internal software solutions, and partner with software teams during active development cycles
• Work cross-functionally with wetlab and software teams to critically evaluate data from multiplex biomarker assays and translate scientific needs into analysis solutions
• Communicate findings to scientists, researchers, and stakeholders through clear written reports and presentations
• Challenge the status quo by engaging in constructive critique of established practices and proposing better alternatives
• Deliver projects and milestones on time, keeping leadership informed through routine progress updates
• May participate in travel to conferences and tradeshows

Skills

• Requires a PhD with extensive bioinformatic analysis background
• Strong fluency in Python (required); working knowledge of R, MATLAB, or comparable scientific computing environments is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to design and write clean, reusable functions, modules, and analysis pipelines - not just notebook-style scripting
• Hands-on experience developing machine-learning or deep-learning models (training, evaluation, and deployment), particularly applied to imaging or single-cell data
• Ability to communicate, educate and engage wet lab scientists
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Experience in microscopy and/or histology is desirable but not a precondition
• Industry experience is not required
